The Sunday Post #10 & more!

Hello, everyone! Today we are linking up with

This is our 10th Sunday Post, how great!

Olivia Update 🐾

Olivia has had quite the week! She’s enjoying her hammock, cat food pizzas, and tuna squeezie treats. A new phenomenon I’ve been noticing is her night-time “skittles.” Now, when I refer to “the skittles,” this means that during the evening, Olivia will chase her toys (especially her soft blue ball) and dash like a bolt of lightning across the room! When this happens, I can hear feet as they scamper about – I call these frantic episodes “the skittles.”

In other news, Olivia has been an excellent reading companion. I’m so grateful for this little bean!

Life Update

I’ve been so inspired by all of the Fall bookstagram vibes lately! It makes me want to:

  1. Immediately stock up on all Autumn drink ingredients.
  2. Decorate my home with Fall candles, autumn leaves, and tiny pumpkins
  3. Read all of the cozy and spooky books.

Olivia has a collection of seasonal collars and sweaters. One collar is black, orange, and yellow Halloween-themed. I’m saving that one for October!

Unfortunately, I had another back injury this week, but luckily, it has mostly improved. I’ve been trying to heal as best as possible; however, an area of personal growth for me is understanding my limitations. I tend to overestimate my recovery and take on physical tasks when I’m not ready to (e.g., heavy lifting). I need to be a bit more patient with myself. One day at a time!

Reading Update

Check out our August Wrap-Up for an update on how the month went for Olivia and I! We read 12 books in total. Here is our mini reading vlog for Lore by Alexandra Bracken.

Currently, we are reading:

Our next reads:

Additionally, we went to the library and signed out many books. As promised, here is part 1 of our library haul:

Let me know if you’ve read any of the books from our haul!

With another season ahead of us, we are running the Hello Autumn / Spring Readathon from September 17th-18th! I host the readathon along with several of my friends. To learn more about the readathon and our cohosts, here is our bookstagram post. We’d love it if you could participate with us!

  1. Corey and I call those the zoomies. Izzy gets the zoomies at night too. I love watching her run and play and throw her toys in the air. It’s so cute. I be Olivia is just as cute! 😀

Sorry to hear that you hurt your back again. I tend to do too much too soon too. Wow. There were a lot of toos in that last sentence, lol. I hope your back heals completely. Take care!

  2. It sounds like Olivia had a good week. 🙂 She’s beautiful. My Gracie has been extra cuddly with me in the evenings since I’ve been working out of the office all week. Even Nina has been sticking close by–and she’s more my husband’s cat. Ghostcloud sounds really appealing. And I’m definitely interested in The Lost Witch. I hope you have a great week and enjoy you reading!

  3. My Theo does that crazy running around thing too. Always near our bedtime. It’s so funny. Now, I have a new word for it!!! Hope you have a good week and don’t forget to let your back heal fully before doing too much 🤗

  4. I’m so glad to hear Olivia had a fun week—the skittles sound like a very adorable cat phenomenon! And getting ready for fall is very exciting too—I’m a big Thanksgiving person myself, so I need to get into the swing of things. Also, I’m so sorry to hear you had a second back injury—that is awful, but it’s very brave that you’re acknowledging your own limits and trying to rest more! I really hope you feel better soon.

Also, I took a look at your August wrap-up, and like some of the other commenters, I love all the cute graphics and statistics you included! It looks like you had a really impressive month of reading, and I hope September lives up to your expectations too. Thanks so much for the wonderful post, Sara!
